Prevent It Like a Gentleman

MAR Shopping Algarve is once again promoting the "Prevent it Like a Gentleman" campaign, an initiative dedicated to raising awareness of men’s health and the importance of prevention.

Now in its 10th year, the campaign runs from 1 to 17 May, encouraging the community to look after their health in a simple, accessible and open-minded way.

Throughout this period, visitors will be able to have free PSA screenings, organised by Clínica HPA Saúde, by appointment, and visit the Triumph Algarve exhibition next to Mango on the ground floor, as well as “Metamorfoses”, an art installation by João Jesus, next to Ikea on the first floor.

The highlight of this year’s event takes place on 17 May, with the arrival of the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride Algarve, an international initiative bringing together vintage motorbike enthusiasts on a route between Faro and MAR Shopping Algarve. The event will also feature musical entertainment from 2 pm to 8 pm in the Meeting Place leisure area, with DJ Rockindad and a live concert by El Pavoni Harp & His Rockin’ Trio, as well as a photowall dedicated to the event. 🏍️

Since the start of the campaign, over 2,175 free PSA tests have been carried out, enabling more than 100 men to be referred for medical follow-up.
