We are not artists, we fit in
From June 2 to 12, MAR Shopping Algarve will host the 5th edition of the exhibition “We are not artists, we fit into each other's shoes,” developed by students from the Dra. Laura Ayres School Group in Quarteira. The exhibition, which marks another chapter in a relationship that began in January 2021 between the center and the school, will be on display on the ground floor, next to the Mango store, and can be visited free of charge during
the Meeting Place's opening hours.
This initiative highlights the work of young people involved in the Integrated Education and Training Program (PIEF), which uses art as a fundamental tool in combating school dropout and promoting social inclusion. Through artistic expression, students develop personal and community skills that strengthen their citizenship.
The exhibition is a collective event that brings together various school programs and uses different techniques and materials to promote essential values: empathy, solidarity, and altruism. For Ana Antunes, Director of MAR Shopping Algarve, “this exhibition is a clear example of the positive impact that art and education can have on the lives of young people and society in general. It is an invitation to reflect on the uniqueness of each story and the role we all play in building a more just and inclusive society with opportunities for all. At MAR Shopping Algarve, we believe that supporting these projects is essential to creating a future that is truly inclusive and accessible to all.”
MAR Shopping Algarve thus reinforces its commitment to sustainability, social inclusion, and the promotion of cultural and educational events that contribute to the development of the local community and the improvement of the quality of life of its young people.
